About the Website Name
One of the first things that struck me about veterinary medicine, especially as my interest in comparative medicine and One Health grew, were the many hats a veterinarian wears. In general practice, vets effectively function as family medicine doctors, pharmacists, anesthetists, dentists, surgeons, managers, and more! Any vet can specialize in those or other fields of medicine, and vets also work in government, shelters, in disease outbreak management, in research, in food production, in disaster response, and in content creation. The possibilities are endless and veterinarians are a definitive "Jack of all Trades" in the world of professions. That led to the original website name, Doc of All Trades, which has evolved over time with my social media handle to All Trades DVM.
